Young Duece – Back To The Future

This album is what Young Duece considers to be their “new beginning”. The last all original project, “Commercially Underground”, was released in January of 2010. When asked, the duo explained how they decided to “take time” in order to reevaluate themselves as artists and better their craft.

“Over the years, we’ve been through a lot of creative stages and have done a lot of searching in the midst of it all. We went from just making whatever came to mind to trying to cater to a certain audience. Having played both sides, we really want to get back to making what we naturally feel.. but with a better understanding of how to approach everything.”

The meaning of “Back From The Future” is basically their way of saying that “fitting in” is no longer their focus.. and whether or not listeners can appreciate their work today or not, the music can and will last to be appreciated for many years to come.

The two have also been featured on Talib Kweli’s “Blacksmith Community Mixtape” (Hosted by DJ Mick Boogie) and Zion-I’s “The Search and The Seizure” mixtape after AmpLive heard the song made to his remix of Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi”, which was on his popular Rainydayz Remixes album. Some of the older material can be found here.
